8 Warm-ups (Different games)
It's a collection of eight fun English warm-up activities for beginner learners at A1-A2 levels. Each activity contains several engaging tasks/questions.
1. This or That: Students choose between two options and justify their choice. This encourages them to express their preferences and opinions while practicing comparative language.
2. Agree or Disagree: This activity features various statements, and learners are prompted to express whether they agree or disagree, providing reasons for their standpoint. This promotes critical thinking and conversation skills.
3. Name 3: Students are challenged to list three items based on a given topic. This activity encourages rapid thinking and broadens vocabulary.
4. Can You Tell How To...?: Here, learners are asked to give step-by-step instructions on how to do something.
5. Similarities and Differences: Students compare two given items, professions, or places and are asked to state two similarities and two differences. This enhances comparative and contrastive language skills.
6. 2 Pros and Cons of...: In this activity, learners are prompted to think critically about various topics, listing two advantages and two disadvantages. This promotes balanced argument construction and critical thinking skills.
7. ABC Challenge: Students are challenged to think of a word for each letter of the alphabet, which can be based on a given topic or any words they choose. This is a great warm-up to expand vocabulary and stimulate quick thinking.
8. Find 7 Differences: This activity includes comparing two similar pictures and looking for seven differences.
