Three Warm-ups 2.0
How to use this activity:
Individual lessons
- Display one slide at a time and give the student a moment to read all the prompts or look at the items.
- Ask the student to choose one or several options and complete the sentences with personal details.
- Give 30–60 seconds to think before speaking.
- Encourage extended answers with examples, explanations, or short stories.
- Ask follow-up questions to deepen the conversation (Why? What happened next? Would you do it differently?).
- Focus on fluency and natural communication rather than correcting mistakes at this stage.
Group lessons (including breakout rooms)
- Show the slide and clarify the task.
- Put students into pairs or small groups (2–4 students).
- Each student responds to at least one prompt or item and explains their answer in detail.
- Encourage students to react to each other (ask questions, compare experiences, speculate, agree or disagree).
- After the discussion, invite one or two interesting ideas or stories from each group to share with the whole class.
- Keep feedback focused on communication and engagement.
