How to Use This Activity

Individual Work

  • Look at the three pictures on each slide.
  • Choose which one is the best and explain why using comparatives/superlatives.

e.g. Pizza is tastier than salad. It’s the most delicious!

  • Use at least one “as…as” phrase for comparison.

Salad isn’t as tasty as pizza.

Pair or Small Group Work

  • Take turns choosing your favourite picture and saying why.
  • Your partner must agree or disagree, giving their own reason.

A: The city is more exciting than the countryside.

B: I don’t think so. The countryside is more relaxing.

  • Keep score for each correct or creative sentence (1 point).
  • After all slides, the person/team with the most points wins.

Optional Team Version

  • Divide the class into two or three teams.
  • Show a slide → all teams discuss for 1 minute → each team presents their best comparison.
  • The teacher (or another team) chooses the most accurate or creative answer.
  • Add points and crown your “Battle of the Best Champion”!
