Character Fact Generator - Present Simple 3d person singular
How to Use This Activity
Individual Work
Send each student a card with pictures (profession, likes, dislikes, hobby, talent).
Students look at the images and create a simple character.
They write or say 3–5 short sentences using he/she/it + -s/-es
(e.g. She likes cooking cakes. He doesn’t like running. She sings very well.).
The focus is on clear, correct Present Simple forms, not long or complex stories.
Pair or Group Work
Students work in pairs or groups and describe the same character together.
They compare their ideas, discuss differences, and agree on the final set of facts.
Encourage them to build on each other’s sentences (e.g. and, but, because) while keeping the Present Simple forms accurate.
Class Sharing
Ask several students or groups to present their favourite character to the class.
Others listen and can agree, add a detail, or ask a simple question.
Optionally, write a few good sentences on the board to highlight correct Present Simple forms and useful vocabulary.
Variation
Give a time limit (e.g. 60–90 seconds per card).
Groups can score points for correct -s/-es forms or for adding clear extra details.
Students can vote for the most creative character at the end.
