Admin Nights - Speaking Club
Before the lesson, students will:
- Watch a short video about the growing trend of admin nights
- Learn useful vocabulary using a Quizlet set
- Optionally practise the vocabulary from the video by completing Wordwall tasks
During the speaking club, students will:
- Discuss thought-provoking statements about adulting, overwhelm, and modern life
- Rank common life-admin tasks from the easiest to the most dreaded and compare their choices
- Share their own experiences with procrastination, cognitive overload, and everyday responsibilities
- Explore real statistics about life admin and discuss what they reveal about modern adulthood
- Analyse realistic situations where people have fallen behind on important tasks and suggest practical solutions
- Design the perfect Admin Night by creating its concept, atmosphere, rules, and slogan
- Present their ideas to the group and compare which admin night sounds the most effective and enjoyable
- Reflect on their own relationship with life admin and identify one small change they could realistically make
