Autumn Story Builder

Speaking activity ENG HUB Pro

How to Use This Activity

Individual play

  • A student clicks a number to open an autumn situation with three words.
  • They tell a short story (6–8 sentences) using the three words.
  • They click the randomiser to get a prize (1–3 items) and drag it to their field.
  • Keep going through all situations. Count how many items the student collected in total (or how many different ones).

Pair work

Option 1 — one vs one:

  • Each student plays on their own field, taking turns to click, tell a story and get items.
  • After all situations are used, compare how many items each collected (or how many unique ones).

Option 2 — pair vs pair:

  • Divide students into pairs. Each pair plays as one team with a shared field.
  • Take turns telling stories and collecting items.
  • At the end, see which pair has more items (or more unique ones).

Groups / Teams

  • Divide the class into two or more groups.
  • Each turn, one student from a group clicks a number, tells a story, and gets 1–3 items.
  • Add the items to the group’s field.
  • When all situations are used, the group with the most (or most unique) items wins.
