Beyond the Brochure - Narative Tenses
How to Use This Activity
Individual Work
The student reads a brochure card and writes a short travel story (7–8 sentences). They use narrative tenses to describe what they did, what was happening around them, and what had happened earlier.
Pair or Group Work
Students take turns reading a brochure card aloud and retelling the “day” as if they were there. Each student adds details using narrative tenses. Groups can set a time limit or challenge each other to include as many useful phrases as possible.
Class Sharing
After several rounds, invite a few students or groups to present their travel stories. Classmates can react, ask follow-up questions, and vote for the most vivid or realistic narrative. Encourage everyone to integrate the Useful Phrases provided.
