Easter Alias

Speaking activity Free

Turn your Easter lessons into a fun competition! The Easter Alias Game encourages students to think fast, speak clearly, and celebrate the holiday through words and teamwork.

How to Use:

Online:

  • Send the cards privately to your students before the game.
  • Divide students into teams using breakout rooms.
  • In each round, one student (the describer) describes the word without saying it directly, and their team guesses.
  • Use an online timer (or share your screen with a timer) to keep rounds timed (30–60 seconds).
  • Rotate the speaker after each round.
  • Keep score in the main room using a shared whiteboard, or simply announce it after each round.

Offline:

  • Print the Alias cards before class.
  • Divide the students into small teams (2–5 players).
  • One player from the team picks a card and describes the word without saying it directly.
  • Set a timer (30–60 seconds) for each round.
  • The team guesses as many words as they can within the time limit.
  • Rotate players every turn so everyone gets a chance to describe.
  • Keep score on the board. Celebrate the winning team with a small prize (like stickers, sweets, or certificates)!
