Before the lesson, students will:
- Read the article Why Making Friends as an Adult Is Hard — but Worth It
- Learn useful vocabulary using a Quizlet set
- Optionally practise the vocabulary from the article by completing Wordwall tasks
During the speaking club, students will:
- Discuss friendship in numbers
- Talk about making friends as an adult and share their opinions and experiences
- Take a personality quiz to figure out what kind of friend they are
- Compare and discuss their results with a partner
- Dig deeper into different types of friendships (e.g. online vs offline friendships, male vs female friendships, etc.) and complete a table
- Discuss fun Would You Rather...? questions
- Fill in a Friend Profile about their partner and let the group guess who it is
- Reflect on everything they have discussed and learnt during the lesson
