Future Forms Jeopardy

How to use:

• Put students into 2–4 teams (or play individually in a one-to-one lesson).
• Teams take turns choosing a category and a points value (100–500) from the board. The higher the value, the harder the task.
• Before seeing the question, the team decides whether to answer it. If their answer is correct, they add those points to their score. If it's incorrect, the points are not awarded (or you can let another team "steal" the question).
• After choosing a cell, students read the task aloud and answer orally (or in the chat if online). Tasks include choosing the correct form, filling in the gap, correcting the mistake, making their own sentence, and forming a question — all practising will, going to and present continuous.
• Encourage teams to answer as many questions as possible before the time runs out. Make sure someone keeps track of the points throughout the game.
• Continue playing until all the cells are used or the time limit is reached.
• At the end, count the points and announce the winning team. You can display the totals on the Results / Final Score page so everyone can clearly see how they did.
