How to Use (Online – with Breakout Rooms):
- Share your screen with pictures.
- Put students in pairs or small breakout groups.
- One student shows a picture to their partner and asks:
"How do you feel about it?"
- Their partner responds with a sentence using love/like/hate + gerund:
“I hate washing the dishes because it's boring.”
- Encourage follow-up questions or short comments from their partner:
“Really? I actually like it — it's relaxing for me.”
- After discussing several pictures, students return to the main room and share one thing their partner said that was funny, surprising, or relatable.
How to Use (Offline/In-Person):
- Print and distribute photo cards or use a computer to show pictures.
- Students work in pairs or small groups.
- Each student takes a turn saying what the activity is, and giving their opinion using the target structure:
“I love going shopping.” - Partners ask follow-up questions or give their own opinions:
“Why do you love going shopping?”
“I hate it — too many people!” - After the discussion round, each student shares a fun or interesting opinion their partner had.
