Short overview of the lesson: 

  • Start with a warm-up discussion to share experiences of dealing with everyday problems. 
  • Read a short text introducing the idea of “lemonading” and discuss its meaning. 
  • Explore and practise new vocabulary connected to challenges, setbacks, and resilience. 
  • Complete a variety of engaging exercises, including gap-fills, correction tasks, and a “Rate & Relate” activity where students reflect personally on situations. 
  • Work in groups to debate which life challenges build the most or least resilience, using prompts to support arguments. 
  • Practise fluency through fun speaking tasks such as “Drama Lemons,” where students read sentences in exaggerated emotions. 
  • Complete a creative homework task: write a playful social media-style caption about how you “lemonaded” a challenge. 
  • Reinforce learning with extra practice and an interactive Genially game. 
  • Use the Quizlet set for revision and further practice.
