Little Time Thieves
How to use this activity:
Individual Work:
Students look at each “time thief” habit on their own. For each habit, they decide whether they would keep it or stop it. They give a short reason (1–2 sentences) and add 1–3 quick tips to save time or improve the habit.
Pair or Group Work:
Put students into pairs or small groups (or use breakout rooms if online). Show one habit at a time. Students discuss whether they would keep or stop the habit, explain why, and agree on a few simple tips to fix it or manage it better.
Class Sharing:
Invite students or groups to share their best time-saving tips with the class. Encourage active listening — classmates can ask follow-up questions, share similar habits, or suggest alternative solutions.
Language Support (Optional):
Encourage students to use simple “Useful Phrases” to express opinions, give advice, or explain their reasons. You can display useful sentence starters to support confidence and fluency.
