My Perfect Mix
How to Use This Activity
Individual Work
- Students look at the jars and choose the one they would most like right now.
- They explain their choice using one or two short sentences (e.g. I choose this jar because…).
- This stage helps students focus on personal language and warm up speaking.
Pairs and Small Groups
- Students work in pairs or small groups and take turns showing their chosen jar.
- They explain why they chose it, while partners listen and ask one simple follow-up question (Why? When?).
- As an extension, partners can guess which jar the student will choose before they answer.
Group Interaction Ideas
- Same Jar, Different Reasons:
Students who chose the same jar compare reasons and notice similarities or differences.
- One Jar, One Story:
Students choose one jar together and create a short shared story or situation connected to it.
- Would You Swap?:
Students explain their jar, then decide if they would swap it with a partner’s jar and say why.
Class Sharing
- Invite a few students to show their jar and explain their choice to the class.
- Other students can react by saying Me too, Not for me, or by naming a different jar they would choose.
- This stage builds interaction and helps the teacher get to know students’ interests, habits, and preferences.
