My Winter Plan in 3 Words - Going to

Grammar activity ENG HUB Pro

How to Use This Activity

Individual Work
Give each student one winter character card with three short actions. The student reads the actions and creates a sentence using going to to describe the character’s plan.

Pairs and groups
Students take turns reading a card and saying the character’s plan using going to. Their partner listens and checks if the sentence matches the actions on the card. Partners can ask simple follow-up questions such as “Why do you think they’re going to do that?” or “What are they going to do first?” After each round, they swap cards and continue with new characters.

Class Sharing
Invite a few students to share one character and read their going to sentence to the class. Listeners can briefly react, correct, or give a different version of the plan. Optionally, you can have a quick vote for the clearest sentence, funniest plan, or most winter-like plan.
