Grammar activity
ENG HUB Pro
How to Use This Activity
Individual Work:
- Use this activity to practise be, have/has got, and do/does in sentences.
- The student rolls two dice. One die gives the row, the other the column.
- They find the sentence at the intersection and complete it with the correct word.
The student must:
- Read the sentence at the intersection
- Choose the correct form (e.g. is, have got, does) or dentify the verb type (be, do, have) if needed
Pair or Group Work
- Students work in pairs or small groups (or in breakout rooms online).
- Each pair takes turns rolling two dice, finding their square, and completing the sentence together.
Their task:
- Read the sentence at the intersection
- Choose the correct form (e.g. is, have got, does) or dentify the verb type (be, do, have) if needed
Encourage students to:
- Discuss and compare answers
- Reflect on why a certain verb form is correct
This format provides repeated exposure to be / do / have got in context, reinforces form recognition, and supports sentence building with minimal prep.
