Strange but True - Relative Clauses

Grammar activity ENG HUB Pro

How to Use This Activity

Individual Work
The student reads the beginning of a story on a card (e.g. “I found a wallet…”) and extends it with a relative clause. They continue adding more sentences until they build a short story of 4–5 sentences.
Pair or Group Work
Students take turns reading a card aloud and adding relative clauses to develop the story. The next student continues the same story or starts a new one. Groups can set a time limit or decide on the funniest/most original story.
Class Sharing
After several rounds, invite a few students or groups to share their complete stories with the class. Classmates can vote for the most creative, logical, or unusual story. Encourage students to use the Useful Phrases provided to vary their relative clauses.
