The Unspeakable Challenge

How to use:

• Assign each student a topic to speak about for 2-3 minutes.
• Provide them with three forbidden words related to their topic.
• Instruct students to speak without using the forbidden words.
• The audience listens and points out if any forbidden words are used.
• If a forbidden word is spoken, the student must restart or continue without it.
• After each turn, discuss alternative vocabulary used and challenges faced.

The activity pushes students to expand their vocabulary by thinking of synonyms and creative ways to express their ideas, while the rest of the class listens carefully for any slip-ups.
