What’s In Your Bag?
How to use:
-
Form pairs or small groups: Students will work in pairs or small groups to complete the task.
-
Scenario Assignment: Each group is given a scenario that begins with "You are going to..." (e.g., "You are going to the beach").
-
Item Selection: Students are provided with a mixed list of items. They must choose three items they would bring with them for their scenario or come up with their own ideas, and then complete the sentence, 'In my bag, I have...'
-
Discussion: In their groups, students discuss why they chose each item and how it would be useful in their specific scenario. They should use simple language to explain their choices.
-
Sharing: After the discussion, each group shares their completed sentence with the class. For example, "In my bag, I have a towel, sunglasses, and sunscreen because I am going to the beach, and it's sunny."
-
Simplified Sharing: The class can discuss which items were the most popular and why, or consider whether other items might have been useful in the scenario.
